Sufis are a special caste of people, distinguished by their ascetic lifestyle and piety. Pilgrimage to holy places purifies the soul and brightens the mind. There are numerous sacred sites in Uzbekistan related to Sufi scholars and saints, such as Khast Imam in Tashkent, the Shakh-i Zinda necropolis in Samarkand, and the mausoleum of Bahautdin Naqshbandi in Bukhara.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Tashkent
- Arrival to Tashkent in the morning. Transfer to hotel. Meet with tour manager.
- City tour of Tashkent: Amir Timur Square, Opera House, Earthquake Memorial, Independence Square.
- After lunch: Abdul Kasim Madrassah, Khast Imam Complex, Chorsu Bazaar, Tashkent Metro.
- Overnight in Tashkent.
Day 2: Tashkent – Samarkand
- Transfer to railway station. Morning high-speed train to Samarkand.
- Sightseeing in Samarkand: Gur Emir Mausoleum, Registan Square, Bibi Khanum Mosque, Shahi Zinda, Ulugbek Observatory, Siyab Bazaar.
- Overnight in Samarkand.
Day 3: Samarkand – Urgut – Samarkand
- Morning drive to Urgut. Visit holy site of Abdul Kodir, founder of "Kadiriy" Sufi order.
- Return to Samarkand. Visit Abdi-Darun and Abdi-Birun, tombs of Khoja Ahrar Wali.
- Overnight in Samarkand.
Day 4: Samarkand – Bukhara
- Drive to Bukhara. En route visit Imam Al-Bukhari Memorial Complex in Hartang village.
- Check-in and overnight in Bukhara.
Day 5: Bukhara
- Walking city tour: Lyabi Hauz Ensemble, Magoki Attari Mosque, Trading Domes, Ulugbek & Abdulazizkhan Madrassas, Poi Kalon, Ark Fortress.
- Optional: Samanids Mausoleum.
- Overnight in Bukhara.
Day 6: Bukhara – Tashkent
- Visit Sitorai-Mokhi-Khossa Palace, Naqshbandi Mausoleum, Chor Minor Madrasah.
- Afternoon train to Tashkent. Overnight in Tashkent.
Day 7: Departure from Tashkent
- Check-out and transfer to the airport.
