Samarkand Tour from Tashkent

Welcome to Samarkand – a timeless jewel of Central Asia. This short two-day trip from Tashkent allows you to explore the cultural capital of Uzbekistan and the legacy of Timur the Great through ancient architecture, vibrant markets, and authentic Silk Road atmosphere.

Day 1 – Tashkent → Samarkand

• 07:00 – Transfer from your hotel in Tashkent to the railway station.
• 08:00 – Departure to Samarkand by high-speed train “Afrosiyob”.
• 10:08 – Arrival in Samarkand. Meet local English-speaking guide and driver.
• Start 6-hour city tour:
  • Gur Emir Mausoleum – the majestic tomb of Amir Timur and his dynasty.
  • Registan Square – iconic ensemble of Ulughbek, Sherdor and Tilla-Kari madrasas.
  • Bibi Khanim Mosque – once one of the largest mosques in the Islamic world.
  • Siab Bazaar – colorful local market with spices, dried fruits and souvenirs.
• Transfer to hotel in Samarkand. Overnight in Samarkand.

Day 2 – Samarkand → Tashkent

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• 10:00 – Continue sightseeing with guide and driver:
  • Shahi Zinda Necropolis – sacred complex of mausoleums and masterpieces of tilework.
  • Ulughbek Observatory – 15th century astronomical observatory of the great scientist.
  • Khoja Doniyor Mausoleum – pilgrimage site, believed to be the resting place of Prophet Daniel.
• 16:00 – Transfer to Samarkand railway station.
• 17:00 – Departure to Tashkent by “Afrosiyob” train.
• 19:10 – Arrival in Tashkent. Transfer to hotel/airport. End of tour.
