This 4-day budget Silk Road adventure is designed for travellers who want to see the best of Uzbekistan – Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara – in a short and affordable trip. Travel by modern high-speed trains, stay in cosy standard hotels and enjoy guided sightseeing in each city.

You will explore Registan Square and Shah-i-Zinda in Samarkand, walk through Bukhara’s old lanes around Poi-Kalon and Lyabi Hauz, and finish with a relaxed city tour of Tashkent including the famous metro and bazaar.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1 – Tashkent → Samarkand
  • 06:30 – Transfer from your hotel in Tashkent to the railway station.
  • 07:28 – Departure to Samarkand by high-speed train.
  • 09:38 – Arrival in Samarkand, meet your driver and transfer to the city centre.
  • Full-day sightseeing in Samarkand, including:
    • Gur-Emir Mausoleum – tomb of Amir Temur.
    • Registan Square – Ulugbek, Sherdor and Tilla-Kori madrasahs.
    • Bibi-Khanym Mosque – grand Friday mosque of Samarkand.
    • Shah-i-Zinda Necropolis – alley of stunning tiled mausoleums.
    • Siyob Bazaar – local market for dried fruits, nuts and sweets.
  • Overnight in Samarkand (e.g. Ideal or Jahon Palace hotel).
Day 2 – Samarkand → Bukhara
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • 10:32 – Train from Samarkand to Bukhara (arrival around 12:21).
  • Meet your guide and start walking tour in Bukhara:
    • Lyabi Hauz Ensemble and Kukeldash Madrasah.
    • Ancient Trading Domes with handicrafts and souvenirs.
    • Poi-Kalon Ensemble – Kalon Minaret, Mosque and Mir-i Arab Madrasah.
    • Ark Fortress (outside or inside on request).
  • Overnight in Bukhara (e.g. An-Nur or Malika hotel).
Day 3 – Bukhara → Tashkent
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Free time in Bukhara or optional visit to Samanids Mausoleum and other sites (on request).
  • 16:11 – Train from Bukhara to Tashkent (arrival around 20:31).
  • Meet your driver at Tashkent station (with “ViaOrient” sign) and transfer to your hotel.
  • Overnight in Tashkent (e.g. Milan, Gabrielle or Marwa hotel).
Day 4 – Tashkent City Tour & Departure
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • 10:00 – Start Tashkent city tour (approx. 5 hours):
    • Amir Timur Square and surrounding boulevards.
    • Independence Square – main square of Uzbekistan.
    • Khast-Imam Complex – religious centre with ancient Koran.
    • Chorsu Bazaar – colourful traditional market.
    • Tashkent Metro – beautifully decorated stations.
  • After the tour, transfer to the airport or back to your hotel (depending on your flight schedule).
