This 3-day Uzbekistan tour is an excellent opportunity to discover the main Silk Road pearls in a short time. It can also be a perfect extension to a business trip to Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan is especially charming in spring, when the sun illuminates ancient mausoleums and minarets, and the air is filled with the fragrance of cherry blossoms. Guests from all over the world come here, and everyone holds their breath when visiting stunning Samarkand and Bukhara. Even a short, well-organized tour is enough to feel the spirit of the Great Silk Road.

Day 1  |  Tashkent → Bukhara
Arrival in Bukhara & Walking City Tour

Take-away breakfast.

06:30 – Transfer to Tashkent Airport (Terminal 3).

08:00 – Flight from Tashkent to Bukhara.

09:10 – Arrival in Bukhara. After exiting the terminal, our driver will meet you with a signboard “ANUR TOUR”.

Transfer to the hotel and drop off luggage. Standard check-in after 14:00.

Meet your local guide at the hotel. Start a walking sightseeing tour in Bukhara (5–6 hours):

  • Lyabi Hauz Ensemble – including Nadir Divanbegi Madrassa, Khanaka, Kukeldash Madrassa and the charming monument of Khodja Nasreddin.
  • Magoki Attari Mosque – one of the oldest mosques in Bukhara, preserved from the period before the Mongol invasion.
  • Abdullakhan’s Tim – traditional trading area with many handicraft shops: souvenirs, ceramics, national clothes and carpets.
  • Caravanserai Sayfuddin – the Center of Handicraft Development of Bukhara.
  • Trading domes (bazaars): Toki Sarrofon, Toki Telpak Furushon and Toki Zargaron (XVI c.), once famous centers of silk and jewelry trade and money exchange. Today, you can find a wide range of souvenirs here, from small magnets to authentic Bukhara carpets.
  • Ulugbek & Abdulazizkhan Madrassas – “Kosh” (paired) madrassas located opposite each other, with distinctive façade decorations.
  • Poi Kalon Square – the heart of Bukhara with Kalon Minaret, Kalon Mosque and Mir Arab Madrassa, a monumental complex that truly impresses visitors.
  • Ark Fortress – the oldest citadel of Bukhara (I century BC) where one can feel the history and hear the legends and myths of the great fortress.

Optional (on request): visit to the Samanids Mausoleum (IX century), an outstanding monument of early medieval architecture.

Day 2  |  Bukhara → Samarkand

Optional countryside sightseeing (extra payment):

  • Samanids Mausoleum (IX century) – one of the most remarkable monuments of early medieval architecture.
  • Naqshbandi Mausoleum – memorial complex of Bahouddin Naqshbandi, the founder of the Naqshbandi Sufi Order. Located near Bukhara, this is one of the most important religious sites for pilgrims, reconstructed many times by different Emirs of Bukhara.
  • Summer residence of the last Emir of Bukhara – Sitora-i Mokhi Khosa (visit on request).

14:30 – Transfer to Bukhara railway station.

15:50 – Departure to Samarkand by high-speed train “Afrosiyob” (or by train “Sharq”, depending on availability).

17:20 – Arrival in Samarkand. Meet the driver at the station and transfer to the hotel.

09:00 – Start sightseeing in Samarkand (5–6 hours):

  • Gur-Emir Mausoleum – burial place of Amir Timur (Tamerlane) and his descendants, richly decorated with golden ornaments and considered one of the most important sites in the world.
  • Registan Square – the heart of Samarkand and a masterpiece of medieval Central Asian architecture, including Ulugbek Madrassa, Sherdor Madrassa and Tilla-Kori Madrassa.
  • Bibi-Khanum Mosque – one of the largest mosques in the Islamic world of the 15th century, built by the order of Timur.
  • Shakhi Zinda Necropolis – a unique alley of mausoleums, forming an impressive complex around the cenotaph of the Muslim saint Qussam ibn Abbas.
  • Ulugbek Observatory – remains of one of the finest astronomical centers of the medieval world, built by the great scientist and ruler Ulugbek.
  • Samarkand Siyab Bazaar – traditional oriental market offering dried fruits, nuts, sweets and local specialties.

16:30 – Transfer to Samarkand railway station.

17:28 – Departure to Tashkent by train “Afrosiyob” (or “Sharq”).

19:44 – Arrival in Tashkent. Meet the driver at the station and transfer to the hotel.

Evening at leisure. Overnight at the hotel in Tashkent (end of services).
