This journey to Khujand, the northern gem of Tajikistan, invites you to explore the legacy of Alexander the Great and walk the living lanes of Silk Road history. Experience colorful bazaars, medieval fortresses, and scenic photo stops along the route from Tashkent to Khujand and back.
Day 1: Tashkent – Khujand
- 08:00 – Meet your driver in Tashkent hotel, transfer to Uzbek-Tajik border "Oybek" (~100 km).
- 09:30 – Border crossing (passport/visa control). Meet Tajik driver and guide on the other side, then drive to Khujand (70 km / ~1 hour).
- Begin city tour of Khujand, once known as Alexandria Eschate ("The Farthest"), founded by Alexander the Great:
- Pushkin Square and Kamoli Khudjandi Square
- Timur Malik’s Fortress and the Museum of Archeology & Fortification
- Muslihiddin Memorial Complex
- Panjshanbe Bazaar – one of the oldest markets in Tajikistan
- Rest time in the evening. Overnight at the hotel in Khujand.
️ Day 2: Khujand – Tashkent
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- 09:00 – Continue sightseeing in Khujand:
- Arbob Palace – the site of the Tajik declaration of independence and selection of national flag (1992)
- Photo stop at Kairakkum Water Reservoir
- Transfer back to Tajik-Uzbek border Oybek (70 km / ~1 hr)
- ETA at border ~15:00 (crossing time ~30–60 minutes)
- Meet Uzbek driver on the other side and transfer to your hotel in Tashkent (~100 km / 1.5 hrs)
- End of the tour.
